Doberman was developed in the late 19th century by a German tax collector named Karl Friedrich Louis Doberman. Doberman conceived the concept of a dog capable of acting both as a guard dog and a good tracker that could accompany it in his rounds and exercises. By selectively breeding dogs like Rottweilers, Greyhounds, and Pinschers, he created a breed with characteristics like faithfulness, cleverness, and valor.
Ever since its inception, it has been evolving to become one of the world's most adaptable dog breeds. It is now known for its inclination towards strong guarding instincts, high intelligence, and energy levels. Today, the public sees Dobermans as either multipurpose dogs-such as service dogs, police dogs, and military dogs-or charming pets and loyal family members.
The Doberman is not only a large breed but also with a smooth and muscular body. The coat is short and bright, usually black, brown, or intermediate, which gives it a special appearance, alert, and intelligent expression, besides being inclined neatly over its body.
